Wanna have a crack at one of those athletics events you saw but don’t know how to go about it?
UWA Athletics Club is having a “Suck it and See” afternoon at McGillivray Oval on Friday 5 October 2012 from 3:00pm. Ever wondered how far you can throw a javelin, shot or discus, or if you can high jump your own height (or maybe only long jump it)? There will be qualified coaches & athletes there to give you some tips and there will be a sausage sizzle and a few drinks after at the AJ Pavillion from 5:00pm. Why not come down and check it out. Wednesday @ 6.15am - Strength and Mobility session for Running (incl. Pilates, stability training, technique coaching)
$10 a week for 6-week block OR $350 yearly membership
Suits participants of all abilities including those returning from injury or waiting to start running for the first time. Great for those working towards an event or fun run (i.e. City to Surf).
Sessions will run ‘rain, hail or shine’ with access to indoor training facilities if required. Running coach with coordinate Monday and Friday sessions, with Wednesday classes run by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist* (*Private Health Rebates may apply)

Get grooving to the charity beat with Zumbathon. Shake youre booty for Telethon at the UWA Recreation and Fitness Cemtre, Saturday 17 August from 10am-2pm (come for as long or as little as you like). Professional instructors will be on hand to show you the moves so you can lose yourself in the funky latin rhythms. Entry is $10 at the door and all profits go to Telethon. Raffles, competitions and giveaways on the day will help raise even more money.

Held outdoors in a fun team environment, the sessions are tailored to all fitness levels from beginners to advanced. So whatever fitness level you’re at, find your nearest location and come and join us at the park near you!

The University Bicycle Club is holding the UBC Rolling Weekend on October 12th and 13th of 2013. The event is a cycling weekend, held to coincide with the South West Cycle Club’s annual event; the Lighthouse To Lighthouse. The LTL event is a charitable, team event and this year is aiming to raise $50,000 for the St John of God South West Coronary Care and Cancer Service, supporting, amongst many other important causes - rural cancer patients. INTRODUCING NEW AQUA FITNESS PROGRAMS AT UWA AQUATIC CENTRE UWA Uniswim is collaborating with Aqua Wellbeing Australia (http://www.aquawellbeing.com/) to deliver a new range of aqua fitness programs at the UWA Aquatic Centre. The programs are: AQUA: An active and fun cardiovascular and muscular endurance workout to international rhythms with specialised aquatic equipment. 45 mins DEEP: An intense water running program incorporating drills and challenging counter-balance positions. This is a great way to load your muscles with zero impact. 45 mins AQUABALANCE (TM): A unique water exercise experience with soothing music, floating flowers, and warm water aiming to improve your stability, functional movement, core strength and flexibility. This comes completed with mindful meditation and restorative breathing exercise. There are two types of AQUABALANCE (TM) - AB FLOW: Synchronises specific breathing technique with prescriptive flowing movements 60 mins - AB UNION: Incorporates ancient Yoga philosophy principles and Asanas to the aquatic environment. 60 mins PROGRAM DATES:

Join us on campus at The University of Western Australia for a 3-day match between the EBC England Lions and the WACA XI team.
The ECB England Lions team may well include possible future England star and Australian born Sam Robson, along with established Test player Tim Bresnan. Also likely to play are current internationals, Jos Butler, Chris Jordan, and Danny Briggs.
The WACA XI will possibly include Michael Beer, Tom Triffett, and Nathan Rimmington, along with a number of contracted players keen to catch the eye of State selectors. A couple of WA "young guns' will also be given the chance to prove their worth.
The match will be held over Tuesday 10 December – Thursday 12 December from 10.30am at James Oval.
Bring your chairs, food and sunscreen and get settled in for three days of outstanding cricket in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
You, your friends and family will be able to get close to the action to see these two teams play, just days before the third Ashes test gets underway in Perth.
While on campus, you can wander around our beautiful grounds, purchase food and drinks from our Guild Village Cafe or University Club or head across the road to the scenic Matilda Bay.
