The panellists are Anne Loxley, Curator C3West of Museum of Contemporary Art; Stefano Carboni, Director at the Art Gallery of Western Australia and Helen Carroll, Manager of Wesfarmers Arts.

The discussion will focusing on the ways in which art institutions, artists, business and non-arts government organisations can work together in innovative ways.

Statistical meta-analysis deals with a variety of sophisticated statistical methods to efficiently combine the results of several studies that have a common target. In this course, we will describe the basic concepts of effect size for continuous measurements as well as qualitative attributes, combination of tests and estimates of effect size, tests for homogeneity of effect sizes, fixed versus random effects model of meta-analysis, combination of Gallup polls, meta-analysis of binary data, meta-regression, and publication bias.

Whilst globalisation is written and talked about in a general sense this book seeks to take stock and reflect on the `era of globalisation’ through a series of regional case studies aimed at elucidating examples of globalisation in action. The book will begin with an attempt to define ‘globalisation’ as well as to give a brief history of the theoretical nature of globalisation along with schools of thought about the nature and purpose of the topic. It will also present a brief explanation of how globalisation itself has inadvertently assisted those individuals and organisations who are committed to containing or curtailing that which they refer to as globalisation.

ABRM announces a Call for Papers for the publication of a book entitled Globalisation Revisited: A global phenomenon under the microscope to be edited by Professor P.R.Banerjee and Dr P.R.Datta. The aim of this course is to introduce you to basic statistics. It will cover descriptive statistics (means and standard deviations); data exploration; basic categorical data analysis; simple linear regression and basic analysis of variance (ANOVA).

The course is subsidised for UWA postgraduate research students.

The course is designed for those who have no experience with R, but have a basic understanding of statistics. Those without this experience are encouraged to attend the Introductory Statistics course first.

This course covers material ranging from Kaplan Meier curves to the analysis of censored data and Cox's proportional hazards models.

Participants must bring their own laptop with R installed.

The Vincent Fairfax Oration, part of a wider program funded by the Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Foundation, was established as a way of engaging leaders from different sectors of society in discussion, debate and on-going conversations about ethics and leadership. The Oration focuses on ethics and leadership as they apply to topics of relevance to Australian society.

"This coming week AIESEC UWA is bringing four days of culture, food and entertainment onto the UWA campus! The Global Fair aims to give students an opportunity to experience cultures from around the world and promotes a willingness to continue discovering and understanding different cultures.



Throughout the week, between 12-2pm there will be different things for students to come and see. Come visit us anytime during the Global Fair and get the chance to win a free exchange overseas!
