PUBLIC TALK: UWA Music presents WASO in Conversation
|
|
In the first instalment of our WASO In Conversation series for 2023, Umberto Clerici sits down with UWA's Dr Adam Pinto to talk about his fascinating journey from cellist to conductor, as well as his upcoming performance with WASO and the Western Australian Youth Orchestra (WAYO).
After a career spanning more than 20 years as a gifted cello soloist and orchestral musician, Umberto Clerici has gained a reputation as an artist of diverse and multifaceted talents.
In 2018 Umberto made his conducting debut with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Opera House. A host of acclaimed conducting engagements followed culminating in his recent appointment as the Chief Conductor of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Simultaneously to this, Umberto continues to be in high demand with all the major symphony orchestras of Australia and New Zealand.
Umberto joins us in Perth this March to conduct the WASO & WAYO Side-by-Side Pictures at an Exhibition on Friday 24 March.
