Intro to Emacs [UCC's Guide to Streamlined Documents] : A 40 year old editor, really? Well… there's a reason that people still use this. Join us online to discover the power of Emacs! Other events...
Emacs is interesting because it provides unparalleled flexibility, and even has a few 'killer apps' which raise it above other editors.

This talk is the third part of UCC's 'Streamlined Documents' series, and seeks to provide an introduction to Emacs using the nice "Doom Emacs" config base.

It takes a little bit more effort to install, but if you're interested take a look here: https://github.com/hlissner/doom-emacs/blob/develop/docs/getting_started.org#install

Whether you are an undergraduate student, currently writing your thesis, or create and edit large numbers of documents as a teacher or tutor - UCC's Guide to Streamlined Documents is a series you won't want to miss.

This is an online talk offered for free to the general public. All you need to do to join the session is to open the following meeting link at 6pm on Tuesday, July 7: https://meetings.ucc.asn.au/b/tec-mzh-h9w
