The Insider's Guide to: Sinful pleasures in the work of Hieronymus Bosch : The dark wit and wild imagination of the 'devil’s painter' Other events...
The art of Hieronymus Bosch is populated with many sinners and few saints, lots of devils and little angels, and strawberries. What to make of this topsy-turvy world? The Garden of Earthly Delights is probably one of the most enigmatic artworks ever produced: can we unlock its meaning? And what is the significance of the owl that reappears in almost every painting by the Dutch artist? This lecture sheds light on the dark wit and wild imagination of the 'devil’s painter' Hieronymus Bosch.
