SEMINAR: PostgradOne: Designing an app for PhD supervision

Successful PhD supervision requires the management of numerous milestones together with ongoing documentation of meetings, research outputs and supervisor feedback. Regular communication among the student, individual supervisors and other relevant bodies is critical to the process. This presentation describes current efforts at developing a software application (an app) that students and supervisors can use to manage milestones and to maintain extensive documentation on meetings, research resources and supervisor feedback. The presentation will include a demonstration of a very preliminary or ‘toy’ version of the app and a related web service. The seminar is being given with the hope that there would be feedback from participants to help identify an ideal set of features for the app.
