2016 UWA Anti-Poverty Day : Master of Social Work Students' Anti-Poverty Day Event Other events...
Anti-Poverty Week is a week where all Australians are encouraged to organise or take part in an activity aiming to highlight or overcome issues of poverty and hardship here in Australia or overseas. It was established in Australia as an expansion of the UN's annual International Anti-Poverty Day on October 17. In 2016 Anti Poverty Week will be held from the 16th to the 22nd of October (Antipoverty.org.au).

Funded by the School of Population Health, Master of Social Work students will be running an Anti-Poverty Day event on Tuesday 18 October from 12pm-3pm on Oak Lawn at Crawley campus. Students will be operating stalls to raise awareness about social impacts of poverty, and collecting donations for dispersal to homeless shelters and refuges.

Donations of men's and women's bags (especially suitcases) and women's sanitary products (tampons and pads), will be graciously accepted on the day.

Come join the cause and enjoy a sausage sizzle and baked goodies on the day.
