The debates around the 2006 Stern Review on the economics of climate change have been shifting their focus in conjunction with a renewed flurry of activity in the area of decision-making under uncertainty. New ideas are influencing the design of economic experiments as well as the interpretation of behavioural data. Motivated by these developments, as well as by my own ARC-funded research on “conservation auctions under uncertainty”, this talk will offer a bird’s eye view on how the study of economic behaviour under uncertainty is currently changing and how that might affect modelling efforts and economic analysis more broadly.
