Visit UWA from 5 – 9 September for UWA Research Week and imagine what is possible when we showcase UWA research and its impact on local and global communities.
With over 50 events it is a great opportunity for people to come and see the sorts of problems we are working on, the connections we have with international researchers and to learn about the cutting-edge facilities we have here.
Participate in a wide range of free activities including public lectures, seminars, tours, workshops and exhibitions and be inspired by some of UWA’s leading and emerging researchers.
This year we will showcase Professor David Blair and his team’s involvement in the discovery of gravitational waves in a number of events on the program.
Dr Karl Kruszelnicki, the man described as an answer looking for a question will present a public lecture as well as his scheduled ABC radio show. These events are free and will include a public audience.
Explore the wonders of the night sky at the Astrofest exhibition, which will be running all week or learn about how mental health problems in children can affect their learning. The Three Minute Thesis competition is also on. Listen to researchers explaining their research in in three minutes or less!
We invite members of the community, researchers, industry professionals and our alumni to come along and experience how research can shape our future.
