Bayliss Seminar Series : Organic and Organometallic Porphyrin Dendrimers for Optics |

In 2004, we synthesised a porphyrin possessing four fluorenyl arms (TFP),with a remarkable high quantum yield (24%), compared to the reference TPP, demonstrating the capacity of the fluorenyl units to enhance quantum yields. Then, to exploite this efficiency, a series of Organic porphyrin dendrimers based on TPP porphyrin core and bearing fluorenyl dendrons was prepared like OOFTPP. Different applications were exploited such as Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) or supramolecular assemblies. Then a family of conjugated Organic porphyrin dendrimers, still based on TPP, was obtained, such as TPP6. In parallel, for nonlinear optical (NLO) properties, we have synthesised Organometallic dendrimers based on ZnTPP porphyrin core and bearing organometallic dendrons. Luminescence and NLO properties will be discussed.
