School of Music presents - Fridays@5: Gesture and Theatre in Percussion : A lecture-recital by percussionist Thea Rossen Other events...
The ideal way to start your weekend, Fridays@Five offers unique musical experiences to delight all music lovers. See young artists be inspired through a variety of masterclasses, workshops, pre-concert talks, lectures and Q&A sessions. Delve deep into music or simply enjoy a free informal performance to kick-start your weekend.

Currently in her third year at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne, Thea Rossen is a UWA Alumni and recipient of the UWA Friends of Music Travelling Scholarship. In her two years at ANAM, Thea has been awarded a number of prizes for her solo recitals including Most Outstanding Performance and Best Program.

Thea is delighted to be returning to The University of Western Australia to present works that blur the lines between performance art, music and theatre. Her performance will include discussions of the works; how they came to be and how she has approached learning and performing them. The evening will be rare insight into the creative process that leads to a solo recital.

Bar open 5pm, performance begins 5.30pm. Free entry - all welcome!
