EVENT: UWA Careers Centre - Shell Presentation

Gemma Jones is the Social Performance Advisor for Shell Australia. Social Performance is the term Shell uses to describe how we manage the impacts of our business on the communities and societies in which we operate. How well we manage these impacts affects the wellbeing of our neighbours - and ultimately the success of our business. Gemma will give a brief overview on social performance and how Shell use it to manage risk and ensure the successful delivery of our projects.

Gemma’s experience includes social impact assessments, mitigation and enhancement strategies and community engagement in Australia and South Korea, Malaysia and Dubai. Gemma is part of Shell’s global social performance audit team and has conducted audits & reviews of Shell businesses in Nigeria, Russia, Canada, South Korea and Australia over the last seven years at Shell. Her areas of interest are cultural heritage, Indigenous Peoples and community engagement.
