The Faculty of Arts Korean Studies at UWA are organising an exciting Korean music and dance performance at UWA Octagon Theatre next Thursday 15th October 2015, starting from 7.30pm. "The Rhythm of Korea" showcases Korea's music and dance at the intersection of traditional and contemporary performances by a premier Korean percussion group U-So, together with a world-renowned street dance B-Boy group Unlike Harmony Crew. In a unique fusion of old and new, U-So's performance of Korean traditional folk music tradition of pungmul is combined with the Unlike Harmony Crew's contemporary and dynamic B-boy dance choreographies which include incredible gravity-defying hiphop moves.
This performance is a rare opportunity for audiences in Western Australia to enjoy a truly unique collaboration by two of Korea's premier music and dance teams, which will fascinate and delight the audience's visual and audio senses with a vivid demonstration of Korea's traditional and popular culture. The high-energy performance is suitable for all audiences, and is being organized in collaboration with the Korea Foundation, and with the sponsorship of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, The Australia-Korea Business Council, Arirang Restaurant, the Department of State Development and the Cultural Precinct.
