The UWA Law School together with the UWA Business School are pleased to invite you to hear The Hon Christian Porter MP speak on "Magna Carta: Celebrating 800 Years of Law and Liberty."
On the 800th anniversary of its inception, the Magna Carta remains, perhaps, the major symbol of the rights of the individual. The limits it placed upon arbitrary authority are as relevant today as when it was first promulgated. In an era in which individual liberties are under greater assault than has been the case for centuries, it is timely for all those who take personal freedoms seriously to be reminded again of the principles upon which the Magna Carta was based, and to reflect on the impact it has had.
About the Speaker

Christian holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Bachelor of Laws from The University of Western Australia.
