Friends of the UWA Library Speaker : Hidden Treasures of Special Collections |
Other events...
|
The UWA Special Collections is a treasure trove of wonderful rare books and manuscripts that are available to students, researchers and members of the community. Leather-bound antiquarian books, handwritten documents on vellum, rare facsimiles of illuminated manuscripts and early hand-painted maps are just some of the types of material that have been collected and preserved to support teaching and research for now and for generations to come. The purchase of many of these items has been made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Library over the last 50 years. The talk will be illustrated with images from the Special Collections.
