In the Zone is The University of Western Australia's premier forum on regional affairs. This ambitious conference series aims to engage stakeholders in Australia and in key Asian cities directly, to encourage networking and collaboration between decision makers across the zone and to share UWA's vision of Perth and Western Australia's place in this dynamic region.
The In the Zone Leadership Forum on 1 May will welcome His Excellency Professor Doctor Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Former President of Indonesia as the headline speaker. The program will include addresses from the Premier, the Foreign Minister and a keynote from the Former President, followed by an in depth interview conducted by Paul Kelly, Editor at large of The Australian. The event will also include a lunch and panel discussion focused on business and innovation, with panellists including Andrew Harding and Michael Chaney.
This forum follows In the Zone's venture into Asia, held in Singapore on 13 April. This was the first time the In the Zone narrative was extended beyond Perth, and it was an honour to have the Premier of Western Australia, the Hon Colin Barnett, headline this event, held at the headquarters of Google Asia Pacific, Singapore. Moderators and panellists in Singapore included Greg Sheridan, Foreign Editor of the Australian, the head of Google Marketing Michelle Guthrie, the head of Rio Tinto Marine Bold Baatar, the Hon Stephen Smith and Philip Green, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore.
In the Zone is presented by The University of Western Australia together with Principal Partners Rio Tinto, the Perth USAsia Centre and the State Government of Western Australia. Other partners include the City of Perth, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and The Australian newspaper.
The Leadership Forum will be held at the University Club of Western Australia on Friday 1 May 2015 from 9.30am to 2pm. Tickets are available for $550. Please book online at www.zone.uwa.edu.au.
