Dr Grant Logan has worked in the fields of viral pathology and environmental virology before joining the Children’s Medical Research Institute in 1995. In the Gene Therapy Research Unit he has developed retroviral vectors to induce immunological responses to cancer, forming the basis of his MSc from the University of Sydney in 1999. His research then shifted to developing genetic vaccines and modulating immunity using adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors, receiving his PhD for this work from the University of Sydney in 2009. Since this time his research has been focused on developing AAV for gene delivery to the liver and gene editing to correct mutant loci with additional projects focused on developing cellular therapies for liver disease.
