The content of this course is based on Australian Resuscitation Council 2006 guidelines.
The course is run by Royal Lifesaving Society Australia and runs for three-and-a-half hours.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
The current industry standard is for this course to be updated every 12 months.
You will gain an understanding and knowledge of the following:
the chain of survival,
assessing the situation,
signs of life,
performing CPR,
demonstrating the use of an automated external defibrillator,
care of the unconscious person,
special techniques for children and infants,
CPR in special circumstances,
infection control,
reporting procedures.
