A public talk and performance by Martin Bresnick, Professor of Composition, Yale School of Music.
The art of music has always had an unusual ability to be united with other arts - poetry, dance, theater and cinema. In our own time, the association of music, words and images has been expanded and enhanced by computers and other technologies.
In this lecture-performance Martin Bresnick will show excerpts from several of his works to demonstrate this:
'For The Sexes: the Gates of Paradise'(William Blake);
'Caprichos Enfaticos' (Francesco de Goya);
'A Message from the Emperor' (Franz Kafka)
Cost: Free, but RSVP essential via http://www.ias.uwa.edu.au/lectures/bresnick
