Presented in association with the Institute for Advanced Studies, Andrew Foote, Head of Vocal Studies at UWA, explores the transition from solo song to the Romantic trio of singer, piano and poet and exposes its relevance
to the musicians and audience of today using examples of the songs by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann. The lecture will include performance of Schumann’s Frauenliebe und Leben by voice students.
