This half day course provides an overview of typical mental health issues students under your supervision may present with, as well as an overview of strategies and suggestions on how to best deal with them during the supervision period. Participants will learn about their obligations as part of their duty of care and be provided with practical strategies to respond to mental health issues (or symptoms thereof). Information will also be provided on the supports available within UWA and beyond, for both yourself and your students. Given the prevalence of mental health issues, the course is recommended for all supervisors of Higher Degree by Research students.
