To mark the availability of Data Stores @ iVEC the eResearch Programme is offering a variety of increased outreach services to assist researchers maximise the value of the increased storage capacity being offered at iVEC.
Part of the programme of work is a series of ‘drop-in’ Data Clinics that will be held in the iVEC Partners facilities. At these events all researchers are invited to attend, to hear what data storage is available and how they can access this.
Researchers will be guided through the application process by iVEC eResearch staff and supported with the application, if this is necessary.
Researchers can get help with data ingest procedures, tools and practices (e.g. what tools to use and why) as well as have the eResearch staff help review present workflows to identify bottlenecks and help with solutions.
Advice will also be given on how best to share data (especially for researchers with collaborators elsewhere), what tools might be useful and how best to make data discoverable by others.
The Data Clinics will be available as follows:
Mon 2nd Dec Murdoch Uni (Brian Hill Lecture Theatre)
12:00-13:00
Tues 3rd Dec CSIRO ARRC (Room 2B01)
12:00-13:00
Thurs 5th Dec iVEC@ECU (Mt Lawley)
12:00-13:00
Fri 6th Dec iVEC@UWA (Conference room)
12:00-13:00
For researchers who are not able to attend the drop in clinics, please contact
[email protected] for further support. In some cases local drop in clinics can be arranged, subject to demand. For convenience, any researcher can attend any centre (not necessarily their own institution).
The eResearch programme will also be hosting some additional Data Management events, which will also support researchers. Details of this will follow soon and will be sent out to all iVEC Friends.
