LAmour et La Mort: Songs of Love and Loss : A concert exploring the deepest of human emotions Other events...
The themes of love, loss and death have been a staple of artists, writers and composers since time immemorial.

L'Amour et La Mort features songs of the deepest human emotions, from the madrigals of the Renaissance Masters through to musical theatre, contemporary choral works and popular songs by great Australian songwriters. The concert will include works by Monteverdi, Josquin and Lassus; songs by Gotye and Hunters and Collectors; a selection of songs from Les Miserables; as well as the magically moving 'Five Hebrew Love Songs' by Eric Whitacre. This stunning journey through five hundred years of music addressing the most common and remarkable of human conditions is not to be missed!

With a myriad of members ranging from fresh undergraduates to seasoned choristers from all professions, the Perth Undergraduate Choral Society aims to encourage the appreciation of choral music in the student bodies of Perth as well as the wider community. Adhering to high musical standards in all of its concerts, PUCS aims to provide a supportive environment for all singers, regardless of previous training and experience.

Conducted by Jonathan Paxman, PUCS promises to provide a musical experience sure to delight all fans of choral music.
