Come join Swan Estuaries Reserve Action Group in helping to protect and restore native vegetation in the beautiful Pelican Point area!
The Swan Estuary Reserves Action Group was formed in response to a pressing need for action to ensure the long term health and well being of three very special areas in the Swan River Estuary. Members work towards restoring and strengthening the resilience of native habitat.
This will involve the replacement of endemic weeds with native vegetation, installing matting planted with sedges in order to manage erosion caused from boat-wash and winter storms. This bush-restoration program will allow for the steady improvement of the vegetation which provides habitat for both local and migratory birds.
Volunteers will preferably need a hat and sunscreen for protection, but all other equipment is provided by SERAG. A small morning tea will be provided after each event to thank volunteers for their time.
Volunteers need to wear protective clothes suitable to weather conditions, and closed-in protective shoes, that's just for protection against the elements. Rain jackets will be a good idea if there is a possibility of rain
