CPA Australia, together with the UWA Business School and Curtin Business School, proudly presents the inaugural Philip Brown Public Lecture in Accounting with Professor Ralph Walkling.
Corporate directors are the direct representatives of shareholders in the boardroom, yet little is known about the process of electing directors and in particular, the impact of shareholder votes. In a sample of over 2500 director elections Professor Walkling explores several questions.
The results are at the same time reassuring, troubling, and surprising. This presentation will be relevant to both academic and practicing accountants and company directors.
Professor Ralph Walkling is Visiting Professor at the UWA Business School, Founder and Director of the Centre for Corporate Governance and Stratakis Chair in Corporate Governance and Professor of Finance at Drexel University in Philadelphia.
