Adriana completed a Bachelor of Science (Molecular Biology/Biomedical Science) at Murdoch University in 2005. In 2009 she completed her Honours in the Laboratory for Cancer Medicine at UWA. Following this she worked as a Research Assistant in areas such as immunology, virology, veterinary medicine and cancer biology. Adriana began her PhD project in 2013, which involves investigating different therapies for skeletal muscle diseases using various animal models. Her presentation will include details of her projects evaluating therapeutic approaches to skeletal muscle α-actin diseases, and further characterising a unique Western Australian ovine model of an inherited neuromuscular disease.
