Join us for a film screening of the documentary First Contact on 10 April 2013 at the Robert Street Lecture Theatre, UWA.
In the 1930s three Australians, Michael, Daniel and James Leahy experienced an astonishing encounter: a flourishing population of native people living unaware of the outside world.
This documentary presents original footage of the first contact between highland tribes of Papua New Guinea and explorers from the Leahy Brothers' gold prospecting party.
Directed by Australian film-makers Bob Connolly and Robin Anderson.
This screening is a FREE PUBLIC EVENT however, please RSVP to
[email protected] or (08) 6488 3707 by Tuesday 9 April 2013.
