Functions and transformations Other events...
This session demonstrates that most of the functions we deal with are transformations of simpler functions. Furthermore, there are certain ways of reading functions which allow us to graph and understand more complicated functions. Topics include definition of a function, square root and reciprocal functions, the various types of transformation (horizontal/vertical translation, horizontal/vertical dilation, reflections and combined translations). Recommended for MATH1701 and higher level MATH students wishing to revise this topic.
