This research involves the development of two complimentary in vitro approaches for the accelerated achievement of homozygosity in Australian field pea genotypes. These techniques include: 1) haploidisation from anthers in selected field pea genotypes of varying genetic backgrounds; and 2) in vitro flowering and seed-set for use in single-seed-descent breeding strategies.
