SEMINAR: Beyond the LMS: Integrating social media and the LMS
Social (also termed 'participatory') media is a significant part of students' lives. The increase in the use of Facebook as a communicating forum between students, Twitter for professional learning and sharing, YouTube for sharing video or viewing lecture, Diigo for social bookmarking of resources, and many other participatory online tools necessitates that we explore whether and how we might incorporate them into our students' learning experiences.
This Seminar will explore a number of social media (also called Participatory media) web 2.0 tools for their educational purpose and uses.
