Visiting CMSS Fellow, Mr. Bambang Purwoko, will complete his ground-
breaking study examining the impact of ethnicity and political identity
on the bureaucracy in the Sorong-Selatan Regency of the Indonesian
province of West Papua. This study was born of a longstanding desire to
understand and address the fundamental reasons underlying the
chronically poor performance of the bureaucracy in local governments in
West Papua
