This 12 hour training package is for UWA employees who wish to have a better understanding of mental disorders, and wanting to learn how to recognise and provide support to others who may be experiencing mental health problems. First Aid is the help given to someone until appropriate professional treatment is received or until the crisis resolves. The course covers recognition of symptoms, risk factors, available treatments, and guidance on appropriate action if a crisis situation arises. The course is recommended for managers and supervisors, or anyone wanting to learn mental health first aid as a life skill.
