The Global Poverty Project Presents 1.4 Billion Reasons : Inspirational event featuring 2012 Rhodes Scholar Other events...
1.4 Billion Reasons is a ground breaking and inspiring live multimedia presentation that sets out a roadmap for the end of extreme poverty. Developed in collaboration with experts including Hans Rosling (Gapminder Foundation), Jeffrey Sachs (Senior Advisor on Development to the UN) and Sakiko Fukuda Parr (Human Development Report), this 60 minute presentation serves as a powerful tool to communicate the complexity of extreme poverty, successes made to date, and how individuals can take collective and individual action in their own community.

SPEAKERS: Vinay Menon - 2012 Rhodes Scholar, Guest Speaker Michael Sheldrick - The End of Polio Campaign Manager Ashlee Uren - Global Poverty Project presenter

DATE: Thursday May 3rd, 5:30pm - 7:00pm

VENUE: University of Western Australia, Tattersal Lecture Theatre, 35 Stirling Hwy, Crawley, Western Australia, 6009

This inspiring evening will feature Vinay Menon, who was recognised for his community service work with the WA 2012 Rhodes Scholarship, 2009 Human Rights medal from the Australian Commission for Human Rights, and the 2008 Citizen of the Year from the WA Youth Awards.

The Global Poverty Project works to engage young people on issues of social justice, global citizenship and equip them to become agents of change. We have presented 1.4 Billion Reasons to over 100 schools and universities across Australia.

If you are a student under the age of 18 please complete the Consent Form for youth participants to bring along to the event or send to the National Coordinator Sandra at [email protected].
