WORKSHOP: Student Evaluations of Teaching

Intended Audience:
Lecturing staff who want to improve their teaching utilising their SPOT data and explore alternate ways to evaluate teaching in their class.
Workshop Description:
Effective teaching involves not only understanding the scholarship of research around collecting student feedback to improve teaching but as well the engagement with student feedback data.
This workshop will:
- Discuss the theoretical underpinnings of the different items in the SPOT questionnaire and explore strategies that could be utilised to improve these areas of teaching;
- Look at a range of tips and strategies to collect feedback other than the institutional approaches already in use at UWA.
Intended Outcomes:
On completion of this workshop, you should be able to:
- Gather feedback on your teaching using a wide range of strategies;
- Understand the basic principles of student feedback and engagement
