Hon. Hina Rabbani Khar Minister for Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan will be presenting a lecture on "Pakistan's Role in South Asia."

Hon. Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar is the first female Minister of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan. She is a business woman by profession and hails from one of the least developed parts of Pakistan. She has served as Minister of State for Economic Affairs for 3 years and Minister of State for Finance & Economic Affairs for another 2 Years. During these years, she was the lead person in Pakistan’s economic diplomacy, both bilateral and multilateral. She successfully conducted 4 Pakistan Development Forums (PDF’s) and the 3rd World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF). Over the years – She has developed expertise in Aid Effectiveness. She is a graduate of the prestigious Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan and holds M.Sc (Hons) in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (USA). This event is organised by the Centre for Muslim States and Societies in conjuction with the Australian Institute of International Affairs.
