Dr Mellick has a research history spanning almost 20 years, working at prestigious research institutions including Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, University of QLD, and the John Curtin School of Medical Research (JSCMR), Australian National University (ANU). Dr Mellick took up his current position as a Member of the School of Medical Science, Griffith University on the Gold Coast; after completing a fellowship at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories (CSHL) in 2009. Dr Mellick holds current CIA-National Health & Medical Research, Australian Research Council & Queensland Cancer Fund grants. Dr Mellick also holds a joint appointment as a Senior Research Officer (SRO; Lavin Lab), Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR), Brisbane, QLD; and is a Visiting Scientist at the Neuberger Berman Lung Cancer Laboratory, Weill Cornell Medical College (WCMC), NYC, NY. Dr Mellick holds US patents as an co-inventor, covering the treatment of tumours by targeting of EPCs.
