Werner Jaeger is a PhD student in the Laboratory for Molecular Endocrinology – GPCRs at WAIMR. In 2007, he was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award to support him through his studies investigating the orexin neuroendocrine system involved in the regulation of sleep and wake states, and energy metabolism.
Work arising from this study has recently been published in The Journal of Biological Chemistry, presented at international conferences and has since been submitted for examination. The aims of this investigation were to observe temporal differences in complexes formed between orexin receptors and the multi-adaptor protein β-arrestin including differential ubiquitination and cellular signalling through ERK1/2 phosphorlyation.
