SEMINAR: �Estrogen-Related Receptor γ (ERRγ) Mediates Oxygen-Dependent Induction of Aromatase (CYP19) Gene Expression during Human Trophoblast Differentiation."

Premlata Kumar obtained her PhD in Molecular Pharmacology under the supervision of Dr. Thomas Ratajczak in the University of Western Australia in 2001. The same year she joined Dr. Philip Shaul in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, TX, USA for a post-doctoral fellowship, where she worked on nongenomic signaling mediated by estrogen receptor . In 2006, she joined the Department of Biochemistry as a Research Instructor with Dr. Carole Mendelson. Her current research interests are focused on the cellular mechanisms in induction of aromatase in the human placenta, with a role for the transcription factors estrogen receptor  and estrogen related receptor  in the upregulation of the CYP19/aromatase gene. More recently, her work has included posttranscriptional regulation of CYP19 gene expression by microRNAs during trophoblast differentiation.
