Despite an ever-changing society it is through the living language of art that Indigenous Australians continue to express the meaning of culture and heritage. In an ongoing struggle to educate the wider community to the importance of connections to ‘country’ and dispel the misconceptions of a unified Indigenous identity, Aboriginal Australians continue to pass on the
stories of their ancestors, exploring the landscape as they share trans-generational knowledge. Desert Country provides an opportunity to look through the window of cultural heritage and enhance understanding of Aboriginal Australian identity.
