Dr Smith is an academic from the discipline of nursing with research interests in health technology; health behaviour associated with infection; dyspnoea; respiratory health care service delivery across the lifespan; health education and clinical interventions associated with respiratory conditions. Her current role in the National Institute for Health Research, London, is focused on research capacity building. Previous positions include Research Manager in Telehealth, COPD and Respiratory Medicine (Imperial College),a post-doctoral research fellow in the Centre for Evidence-based Medicine (Oxford) and Lecturer in Nursing, Queensland University of Technology. She is currently a member of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Telemedicine and E-Health Council.
