Pakistan has been known as a cricketing nation since its creation in 1947. More recently, the allegations of corruption in cricket have tarnished the image but it has not dampened the interest of Pakistanis in cricket. The lecture by Mr Majid Khan explore the history and future of cricket in Pakistan.
Speaker(s) Majid Khan: Mr Majid Khan comes from a dynasty of cricket players. He has been involved with cricket as player and administrator for over 45 years. Khan is the son of Jahangir Khan and when his son Bazid made his Pakistan debut in 2005 the Khans became the second family, after the Headleys, to have three generations of Test cricketers. Mr Majid Khan captained Pakistans cricket team like other members of his cricketing family his cousins Imran Khan and Javed Burki. He has also represented clubs all over the world, including England and Australia. After he retired from cricket Majid became an administrator for both the ICC and Pakistan, and worked as Pakistans Chief Selector in 1993. Majid was also the Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board from 1996 to 1999.
