Professor Noppen’s leadership and strategic vision for the University Hospital in Brussels and his interest in the provision of quality public healthcare will bring a European perspective on these aspects for Australian healthcare providers and underpins his lecture.
This lecture is based on the book of the same name which was co-authored by Professor Noppen. It will explore innovative and radical approaches towards more effective and efficient public health care based on a series of seminars, workshops and publications from CROSSTALKS. --Vrije Universiteit, Brussel's university and industry network that aims to bridge the gap between the academic and industrial world. This account examines information gathered from 2005 to 2008 and discusses the contemporary challenges as well as the advances in medicine.
Professor Noppen is recognised as one of the world’s leading experts in the field of medical thoracoscopy and has undertaken significant original research into the anatomy and physiology of the pleura as well as in the diagnosis and treatment of pleural pathology. He has held many workshops in this area to assist in the training in thoracoscopy for respiratory physicians. Professor Noppen is an editor of several journals including Respiration, and author of Guidelines on Interventional Pulmonology Procedures.
