Dr. Des R. Richardson (BSc, MSc, PhD, DSc, UWA) is Professor of Cancer Cell Biology at the University of Sydney and is an NHMRC Senior Principal Research Fellowship. He has published over 240 articles, books and patents and is currently on the Editorial Boards of 13 international journals including the Biochemical Journal and Molecular Pharmacology. His major contributions are in the areas of the cellular and molecular mechanisms related to iron metabolism and the design of chelators for clinical use.
