PUBLIC TALK: Curator's Talk with John Barrett-Lennard

Alan Edwards, Professor of English at UWA and a key figure in the Tom Collins Bequest acquisitions, suggested in the early 1950s that 'it would be a very good idea if this University had a really good contemporary Australian painting. Then people would get off the boat to have a look at it when they come through.' This talk looks at Edwards’ ambition, the impact of the Tom Collins Bequest over sixty years and its continuing influence on the University’s collection of contemporary art.
