SCREENING: Film Screening - Our Generation: Land Culture Freedom
|
|
Our Generation is a powerfully provocative film that clearly outlines the undeniably devastating effects of the NT intervention, as told by the Galiwin’ku people in the remote far north east Arnhem Land, NT.
It looks at Australia’s ongoing policies of paternalism and assimilation, explains the real issues underlying Indigenous disadvantage and opens dialogue on ways forward that respect Aboriginal culture and dignity. With music by John Butler Trio, Yothu Yindi, Archie Roach, Gurrumul, and Goanna.
Join us on Wednesday November 10 at the Octagon Theatre, UWA. Doors open at 6pm with a Welcome to Country by Nyoongar Elder, Noel Nannup.
Tickets available at the door $15 / $10 concession, or reserve seats by contacting Kelly Rowe on 6488 7800. All proceeds from the night will go towards Our Generation, supporting the ongoing need to carry the film and its voices into mainstream Australia and beyond.
