The UWA Historical Society was established in 2008 to create a fellowship of persons interested in, and to encourage appreciation of, UWA History.
On Wednesday 27 October (5pm for 5.30pm start) the Society will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the Old Senate Room, Sir James Oval, UWA. The meeting will conclude at approximately 6.15pm and followed by a talk by John Bannister.
John is an experienced Oral Historian who has worked with institutions such as the Imperial War Museum (London), The Australian War Memorial, The National Library of Australia, the National Film and Sound Archives and various local libraries. John will play excerpts of interviews from his projects to highlight his work. He will also discuss the important role of oral historians in recording, preserving and interpreting historical information.
