Clive Emsley is Professor Emeritus at the Open University. He was president of the International Association for the History of Crime and Criminal Justice for ten years and a co-founder of its bi-lingual journal Crime, History and Societies. He is considered one of the UK's pre-eminent researchers on the history of crime and policing.
