Patrick Humbert is currently head of the The Cell Cycle and Cancer Genetics Laboratory at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. His research is focused on understanding how maintenance of the tissue architecture and the polarity of cells within a tissue regulate cell number and behavior. In particular how polarity proteins such as Scribble regulate tumourigenesis and how their disruption in human cancer relates to patient prognosis.
Recently Patrick undertook a genome wide RNAi screen to characterise the role of polarity genes in tumourogenesis. The results of this screen will be presented.
