UWA Business School and WestNet Infrastructure Group - Public Lecture - Perceptions of Safety when Walking in the Neighbourhood Other events...
The UWA Business School is proud to host the visit of WestNet Infrastructure Group Visiting Professor Juan de Dios Ortuzar and Professor Margarita Greene.

Professor Ortuzar and Professor Greene will discuss how crime is essentially a social problem but happens in space; as we are far from finding solutions at the social level, it is important to try and understand (and work with) the spatial conditions. They will discuss the results of a research project aimed at identifying the spatial characteristics of urban safety and the feeling of (in)security in residential areas. Rather than provide answers, the results help clarify the problem and raise new fine tuned questions.
