"Understanding the Creative Workforce: A Study of Artists and Arts Practice"

Dr Dawn Bennett presents Understanding the Creative Workforce: A Study of Artists and Arts Practice, a survey project which is the start of a unique collaboration with artists in Perth, Vancouver and Glasgow. As researchers committed to developing a strong future for the arts, the project strives to bridge the gap between artists and policy markers by developing a clearer understanding of artists' work and its critical role in society. The survey can be accessed at http://research.humanities.curtin.edu.au/creativeworkforce/

Dawn Bennett is a Senior Research Fellow conducting research into the working lives and economic circumstances of the creative workforce. She holds postgraduate degrees in education and music performance and has worked as a classical musician, educator, researcher and manager. Research interests focus on sustainable practice within the creative industries, with special emphasis on the effectiveness of education, training and policy.
